Super chubby cheek picture. Love it!
Sept 4th-5th Ryan's spent his first weekend home with just Mommy and Daddy. We spent most of our time trying to teach Ryan how to nurse again, since he got used to bottles while in the NICU. It was tiring and many tears were shed by Mom and baby, but by Tuesday he was nursing like a champ. Ryan showed us that he has quite the powerful will though, and is almost as stubborn as his mommy.
Sept. 6th. Ryan's first Labor Day. We celebrated by giving Ryan his first sponge bath at home. He really liked the water!
All snuggled up in his puppy towel.
Warm and toasty in his puppy robe
Ready for a nap
It was so fun to start putting him in all his adorable clothes, and not the hospital garb he'd been wearing.
Sept. 7th-14th Nana Nea comes out to visit and meet Ryan.
They had lots of cuddle time so Mommy could get lots of rest.
Back on the bink after a week's hiatus while he learned to nurse again.
Spending time with Daddy
Ryan fell asleep folded up like a jackknife on my tummy.
Sept. 15th-24th We were on our own as a family. After having so much help from Grandma A and Nana Nea, I was scared to tackle motherhood on my own, but I had great help from lots of friends, my Relief Society, and a dear husband. Here are some shots from that week and a half.
Ryan in his first pair a shoes, a gift from Tata Rafa. He was still very fussy at the time, and kept scratching his little face, so he sported baby mittens.
Sept. 15th Off to the doctor's to get circumsized. Ryan was a champ and hardly fussed at all. This is before he knows what's about to him. Poor guy.
Sept. 17th Daddy and Ryan. He was always a great help when he came home from work, jumping right in to take Ryan and give Mommy a break.
We took a little video footage that night while Ryan was awake.
Sept 20th. Sleep deprivation starts to take its toll on Daddy.
Sept 21st. Ryan finds all kinds of places to take a nap
Sept 24th. Ryan wakes and had playtime with Mommy. We do this almost every morning. It's so fun!
Later in the day Ryan takes a nap and snugs his bear. I tried to pull it away to give him more space, but he yanked it right back. He loves that little bear.
Kicking back and relaxing. He did this all on his own!
That afternoon family started arriving for his Blessing Day, which I'll put up in another post. We're starting to catch up!
