Today in Kentucky we had lots and lots of rain. It was glorious! While Ryan napped I sat out on the porch and read a book just so I could listen to the drops hit the ground. Once Ryan was awake, Brenton opened the door to get a closer look at the downpour. Ryan bolted outside and immediately began to splash in the puddles. After a few minutes of getting completely soaked we dried him off, put on some new clothes more appropriate for the weather, and took him back out again. He would have stayed out there all afternoon if we'd let him. The pictures were too adorable not to share, so here they are. And we know that to us each photo is different and precious, but for those who think they're all the same the slideshow is at its cutest during the first minute and last 30 seconds.
I had a very long to-do list planned for today, but sometimes it's better to simply watch pure delight spread across my son's face as he splashes in puddles. Which just goes to show that unlike Karen Carpenter, rainy days and Mondays never get us down.
And that's what the rain is for, Charlie Brown.
